Broadcasters must go digital -- Sony exec

LAS VEGAS -- In the opening keynote at the National Association of Broadcasters here, Sony Corp. of America chairman and CEO Howard Stringer told TV network execs to head for the digital future -- or else. "If you don't embrace (digital TV), Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and a couple of 20 year olds that you have never heard of will -- and they will talk down to you," he said. Sony, a provider of digital TV equipment, stands to gain a enormous amount from the changeover from analog to digital. -- Robert Lemos, ZDNN
