U.S. Equity Movers Final: Air Methods, Centex, Potomac Electric
New York, April 16 (Bloomberg) -- The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose to a fifth straight record as Eastman Kodak Co. soared on unexpectedly strong earnings. Two stocks rose for every one that fell on the New York Stock Exchange, the best performance in six weeks.
The Dow average gained 31.17, or 0.3 percent, to 10,493.89. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index slipped 3.85, or 0.3 percent, to 1319.00, and the computer-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index slumped 37.73, or 1.5 percent, to 2484.04. Some 230 stocks reached one- year highs, 156 fell to lows. It was the fourth time this week that highs outnumbered lows, a reversal of recent months.

Bloomberg News April 8, 1999, 11:37 a.m. PT Singapore, April 8 (Bloomberg) -- Pacific Internet Ltd. is one of five stocks favored by Alex Cheung, manager of the Monument Internet Fund, which owns shares in the companies he recommended, Dow Jones Newswires reported. Cheung said investors shouldn't use traditional price valuations when examining volatile Internet stocks and instead should focus on a company's potential market size and its ability to keep customers. His other stock picks are America Online Inc., Broadvision Inc., CMGI Inc. and DoubleClick Inc., Dow Jones said. Shares in Pacific Internet, Asia's first Internet-related company to trade in the U.S., rose 11 to 62 in early afternoon trading after hitting a high of 71 earlier.
