(ORIGINAL POST#5846) The guy from the Raging Bull board who personally bought the product is a great guy and an experienced engineer as I recall HIS REPORT ** I recently had the opportunity to use the device. I also met Jimmy and Bud. About the device: It's lightweight and easy to use. It really does sell itself. They say no matter how good you expect it do be (and after lurking here and on SI forever I expected alot) it beats your best expectations. Well it did. We were using it on a truck engine that we knew we had an air leak somewhere. And I was able to put the headphones on and find(hear) the leak. And I know absolutely nothing about engines! While looking for leaks on the truck, they heard a leak in one or our compressor tools 20 feet away!! Their presentation was so simple and effective it really was amazing. And just finding leaks is only the tip of the iceberg. The unit has several attachments that you can put on to refine your listening. It also comes with an ultrasonic emitter. Their example was if you have a water leak on your roof you don't have to wait for it to rain to fine the leak. Put the emitter on your roof then, using the device in the attic you'll be able to easily find the leak. Simply Amazing! Our plan right now is to buy several to start with and give to key people just to look for leaks. Then when we get more comfortable with it will be using it for more (spark plugs, electrical system, etc.), then we'll probably get at least one for all our shops.
