CNN not only represents a free, independent news service, but it is also a business. Ratings drive CNN's business. So, it is important for them to have their ratings recognized.
But, I have CNN on most of the day. If they are trumpetting their great ratings, I have missed the celebration. I think that you are using the ratings story to bash the "messenger" again. Why are so down of the free, independent news? The only people that should be afraid are criminals, dictators or those that don't want the public to know what wrongs they are doing.

I'd be willing to bet that if you ran a news service, the only stories would be government censored stories and that the ratings would be very low. What would you do if you ran CNN?
- Would you not show the pictures of the suffering refugees?
-Would you not hilight the fact that NATO hit civilians by accident?
- Would you not have reporters around the globe?
- Would you not show news conferences?
- Would you not show live events?
- Would you not have experts giving their opinions?
- Would you not have talk shows discussing issues, where the general public can call in and express their views?
Now that we have listed what you would probably NOT do. What would you do, have 24 hours of Slob Milosevic or Dog Face, his wife, giving speeches about their racial hatred of the Kosovo Albanians? |
