If a Dell holder holds AOL and is on margin, he may have to sell or his broker may do it for him. If he has held Dell since 2/1/99, he has lost over 35% on his Dell holding. If he was fully margined 2/1/99 he has to put up money or sell. He could be in worse shape if he holds compaq, or other stocks which have taken a big hit-which is possible because holders of Dell may hold tech, computer and internet stocks.
My question is serious-I don't know how to answer it-I don't know if anyone on this board does either-but I would like an estimate if there is a way to reach a good one
