Hi Kevin,
I am now pulling a Frank Evans, and posting a copy of a response I put in on the other Bid.Com thread. My apologizes to those who have already read this.

Hey I am still here! Actually as I am writing this, my wife just handed me a nice tall Ceasar! They are my family's favourites! I plan to have a number of them at our celebration party!
As to where I have been today, well I have been watching some very solid companies getting pulled down with this mass sell off. Companies like ADSN (NASDAQ) who announced fabulous news today is sitting stagnant. It makes no senses at all. When people get a chance to look at who got hit, and the fabulous buying opportunities that now exist, we will see a rush to get back into the good ones.
I now am having fun sitting here musing on how the news that was just reported on CNBC will play out. After the markets close, they mentioned that nine out of ten tech/internet stocks that I had a chance to hear them comment on just reported earnings that either met or exceeded analysts' expectations. Tomorrow EMC and Microsoft report earnings. If they are good then we may see what has just been referred to (on CNBC) as another "Super Tuesday". It might start off lower, but it could come roaring back! In my opinion investors may be more selective in their choices, and this will be a good thing!
Amazon and AOL report next week, and their numbers should be great! In my opinion, if tomorrow doesn't do it, then these results will re-energize the market.
Well Bid.Com made it to the big leagues! Tomorrow is the day that all of us (well not everyone) have been waiting for. Now the key is to get the message out to our friends in the great United States of America! This little company of ours is ready, willing and able to take on the rest of the world!
I cannot overstate that Bid.Com is not just a one trick wonder. They have multiple revenue streams that contribute to their bottom line.
For example . . .
Auctions are conducted in both the ascending and descending mode. They were recently awarded the exclusive patent to the declining auction format (known as a Dutch Auction) form of auction. Now, last week a researcher on CNBC mentioned that there were approximately 300 different auction sites currently operating on the web. My wild guess would be that - at a minimum, there are most likely 50 of them that use this type of auction. Well folks, these companies will now have to cease and desist or pay Bid.Com royalties to use the Dutch Auction format!
Bid.Com recently negotiated a very good contract with a major advertising company. They have a great Business to Business arrangement with a large re-sellers association. They have been working closely with a cable content provider who will take their auction format to Interactive TV! That is a HUGE market and the revenue from that will be staggering. They will soon announce that their two years of greenfield work in Europe will bear fruit in that they plan to announce a new office opening based in Dublin Ireland!
Their Website is undergoing some significant changes, and the addition of live video, and a comedian should dramatically increase a visitors' view time on the site. The customer management applications that they have recently implemented will also ensure that their customer service and sales per customer is near the top of their peer group.
Their year over year sales results were impressive, yet the assortment re-profiling that they completed between the 3rd and 4th quarters of last year resulted in what would appear to the uninformed observer to be troubling as it resulted in lower sales growth between the 3rd and 4th quarters. Yet, the fact is that their margin increase during this period was very significant. This showed me that they were focusing - not just on sales - but on PROFITABLE sales! The sales increases will continue to come throughout 1999. The importance of generating profitable sales was driven home to me during my 20 odd years working at all levels in the retail business.
What we have here folks, is a company that has a great business model, multiple revenue streams, strong management who deliver on their promises. A real asset (that is not fully appreciated yet) is that they now have a patent that much the rest of the industry craves and that has securely put them in the driver's seat.
Yes, I am very confident that their business will grow and thrive in the weeks, months, and years to come.
So, I really don't care about what is happening right now in the markets. This company has, and will continue to provide me handsomely for my faith in them. I like what I see, and happily, now that it is being listed on NASDAQ, many more investors will have an opportunity to be rewarded as I have.
With the commencement of trading tomorrow on the NASDAQ, it will mark the start of another exciting chapter in the growth of this great little company.
Take care, and may all your investments be great ones!
