>INTERNET (esecurities.W) April 19, 1999 - "Computer Gaming World and
ThrustMaster Partner to Bring Talk n' Play Online Community Services to Computer Gamers"
'Our relationship with CGW is significant as it reinforces the validation of the Talk n' Play technology and solution and is indicative of our early success in entering the eCommerce channel with key strategic partners. The objective of mass proliferation of our WeCanTalk.com solutions will be pursued via the execution of a near-term revenue model, driven by the retail and OEM channels, and a mid-term revenue model, driven by the eCommerce channel and other diffusion strategies,'' stated Frank G. Hausmann, ThrustMaster's President and CEO. ''Our alliance with CGW represents a diffusion strategy in the eCommerce channel where mass proliferation lays the foundation for both high margin upgrade revenue and a broader strategic alliance,'' added Hausmann..."

I am going to frame this paragraph. I have never heard an insertion of a ICQ like demo on a demo disk talked up so much. How did he even say the last sentence with a straight face? That's straight out of a Scott Adams book.

Doesn't this kind of press release set off *any* skepticism?
Something I noted is that both Jim and esecurities have both been on this thread a very long time, as I saw both of your names even at the beginnning. Interestingly I noted a much better discussion of *both* the pros and cons by both of you, including comparing technology competitors, etc. At least from the ones I randomly sampled. What happened? Why are you suddenly not as balanced? I see no word of the progress of Talk N' Play's competitors, no addressing of the releasing of a product that's far to similar in function to Netmeeting to have a prayer, pricing being slashed by TMSR, failure to keep promises of shipping key products to stores in a timely manner, etc.. Are you not aware of this?

Now that I *know* from past discussion that you are both indeed capable of being critical, perhaps you *might* like to know what I am talking about? Both of you got completely broadsided by TMSR's last fall, so you can't say that you have inside or complete information.

P.S. For esecurities, I put the little carat up there just for you. Try not to have a tizzy fit this time. Also when you find that you were mistaken in pointlessly attacking me the "high road" thing might be to apologize, and perhaps learn? You certainly aren't going to get accurate/realistic information from Hausman, when he talks like that...
