New York newspapers had stories about the overvalued US internet stocks; which triggered the high tech selloff today according to CNNFN. Also Fidelity (which still has a hugh % of RIM's shares - not selling..but buying lately) said it was rotating out of some high technology stocks into 'undervalued' resource stocks. ie. YAHOO dropped $25.50us today.

"We believe we have the best performance from a network standpoint," John Kampfe, a spokesman for the BellSouth wireless data operation, said. "The latency of messages is in seconds rather than minutes, which allows people to chat from their devices"

Phone/pager devices have not been well received by the public. Motorola's Reflex network is a poor second & will take a lot of time(also to buildout); IMO.
The Palm VII Organizer is still a first generation device( monochrome too) due out in late September/99. Unlikely to compete with RIM's current pager. The Palm 111 had very poor XMAS sales too. The public is not buying it.

We are also due for a re-order of RIM's pagers from BellSouth before May 15th/99 )my best guess).
