So, is SUNW going to build the h/w to run the MSFT server s/w, or is it going to be EMC? -BGR. You don't get it. Sun makes both the software and hardware, plus the Java technology that most of these small devices will use. Microsoft makes the software and also competes with SUN in the Java technology that these devices will use. EMC is the backbone for the massive information storage. DELL can make the box for MSFT software, but you don't make money by doing that, because a clone factory down your street can make that box too, I can assemble that box too, it's not hard. It doesn't involve cutting edge technology. But for the case for SUNW, who else makes boxes that run Enterprise, mission critical software running on Solaris? Nobody else. That's why they can charge expensive price to maintain their profit margin. You DELL can't do that because if you do, people will talk to Compaq, HP. You can't win in this environment.
