I suspect the Founders wouldn't like a lot about what we have done with the government they left us, and taxation would be part of it. The Constitution prohibited direct taxes, and it took an amendment to stick us with the income tax. I suspect that government has become so remote and powerful that there is no way we will ever get the tax burden lowered. We aren't represented, we are ruled. But take heart, your tax money is allowing your country to be 911 for the whole planet.
