Don't know about tomorrow. A great deal of margin calls went out today so tomorrow may continue the downward slide for a while.

Forgot about margin calls. In addition to big drops in the big cap techs, the net stocks got hammered. Can people buy internet stocks on margin? Are there any restrictions? Is normal margin requirements in the USA @ 50% ?

Considering today's declines, those of us who invest on a cash basis should be bargain hunting. One area where you may not get bargain hunters could be internet stocks because the money managers and the experts had been saying all along that net stocks' prices are unjustified. If the funds hold off on investing in these types of stocks and we get more margin calls----lookout!!

I am still optimistic for the long term and might actually start buying on margin in my non-retirement account.

I have to admit that this market had me scared for a while. That is one reason (among many others) why I cut back in options trading in a big way. It is easier to take the losses on the stock as there is expiration approaching. I just used today's weakness to invest in long term January 2001 calls. May options are just too unpredictable.
