Yep, most of my trades last year were shorts and they were very profitable. Of course, I cannot overemphasize the dangers of shorting (my biggest losses also came from shorting).

I have noticed a difference in shorting between last year and more recently. It used to be that there was rarely enough momentum behind the stocks to carry them higher for a second day, so it was a safe short on the day after a huge run up. More recently, however, these stocks have had a lot more momentum pushing them higher for several days up to a week or more. I attribute this to more day and momentum traders piling into these stocks. I think this will continue to be the case until we enter a bear market.
