A little historical survey of SUNW Hi/ Lo's

I took Value line and figured, in each year, how much did SUNW drop from the previous High, of that year only. Not counting % rises, only drops.

The result: SUNW had an average of the maximum drops of the years of 45 % in the "flat years" of 1987 to 1994. The largest drop (in those years) was 59 % in 1990 and the least drop was 35 % in 1988.

In the "Up years" from 1995 to 1999 (3 1/2 Mo) the average drop was 31 % and the largest drop was in 1997 with 44 %, the least drop was 25 % in both 1995 and 1998.

So, there you are. If the past is to guide us, I would not be unreasonable to get in at 50, more or less. 50 being 31 % down from the 72 1/2 High of 1999. Of course, greedy people like myself might wait for a little lower price - and miss it. Happened to me before.

Just a little exercise to put things into perspective.

I know, 1999 isn't over yet.
