I once wrote shortly after Sony had announced the recall that if they did come
back in February it would take from 3 to 6 months for OEM qualification
and IOM would likely have some 25 million drives in circulation. It now
looks like Sony won't have OEM qualification until next year, IOM should
have well over 30 million drives in the market place by then. I've also noticed that the HiFD advertising that had been so evident in the popular publications has also disappeared, perhaps a confirming sign of it's delay.
