Eye care line ready for market !!!
Maintaining clean, uncontaminated
contact lenses has always broken
down at the final step... inserting the
lens. L.O.M. Medical International
Inc. has introduced a great new
product called Lens-O-Matic, which
allows you to insert the lens while
avoiding contamination. This
product also prevents damage to
the lens and scratching the eye during insertion.

Inserting contact lenses into the eye
has traditionally been performed by
placing the lens on your fingertip
and then onto the eye. Handling the
contact lens, however, results in
contaminating both the lens and
your eye. Even the most meticulous
lens handler is familiar with the
sting or blur from a lens that has just
been inserted, which must now be
removed immediately and cleaned
a second time. Hand and face
creams, make-up, perspiration,
dust particles, lint, and soaps
frequently find their way into the
eyes by our fingertips. Certain
occupational involvement greatly increases the risk of
lens contamination as well. The result is a break down
in the routine of maintaining a sterile lens. All these
examples cause discomfort, inconvenience, reduced
visual function, and the increased risk of damage or
infection in the eye. Therefore the value of a sterile,
non-contaminating lens insertion technique is
self-evident.

Through our research and testing, we have found a
large percentage of contact lens users benefit by using
the Lens-O-Matic. The following are a few examples
from the 30,000 units that represented our test market.

Elderly people wearing contact
lenses often have problems seeing
the contact lens in the storage case.
As well, they often have difficulty
with fine motor co-ordination (i.e.:
arthritis or Parkinson's disease).
The Lens-O-Matic picks up the
contact lens for them and simplifies
insertion as it requires less
hand-eye co-ordination.

Women with long fingernails have
difficulty inserting contacts. The Lens-O-Matic allows
easy insertion without damaging or scratching the eye.

People with very large hands have difficulty placing
their lenses without the Lens-O-Matic.

Workers who are in contact with “assembly line”
materials and chemicals also benefit with immediate
removal of lenses, in case of an accident or other
emergency.

Individuals from the medical field suggest that people
who may not have a clean working environment, would
benefit greatly as they are constantly experiencing
difficulties with eye infections.

Hospital emergency teams, clinical employees, and
law enforcement professionals are consistently faced
with having to remove other people's contact lenses.
Not knowing the medical history of the individuals they
are dealing with puts these professionals at risk. The
Lens-O-Matic greatly reduces the threat of contracting
disease or infection.
