Oh, I see, Eastern is better because its actually worse which makes the skiiers better riders. Only problem is most of the World Cup caliber skiiers are from out West. And that's a really silly argument for the recreational skiier who wants a little powder, long runs, dry snow and 30 degree temps for his two trips a year.

Kind of like saying diving in cold water is better.

Anyway, stepins are not a "novelty", they are growing like crazy. If you dont believe me, get a hold of Snowboarding Business or SIA which will give you the numbers.
