Well... I guess they have to be nervous about the recent rise; maybe the approach is not to do anything that could be felt as pure hype to boost the stock. E*TRADE is a big consumer brand, but they also have to do some PR on EGRP and show traders they are a serious company. I would find this explanation reasonable, although of course this is just my opinion.
