Hi Marty,
Actually I noticed the "exclusive" arrangement between TSIG.com and NetTaxi "members". I assume this means that a NetTaxi "member" will receive (upon purchase, of course) a personalized MyNetTaxiMusicCard, soon to be expanded to DVDCard, etc. The Card is to be a membership benefit.
I also assume we avoid all or most of the cost of "advertising" with a portal by following the MusicCard business plan, i.e., we share revenue with our ally, in this case, NetTaxi. Correct?
Alas, the "exclusivity" does not exclude other e-tailers such as AMZN.com and CDNow, both of whom have a presence on the NetTaxi site. The difference, and a significant difference it is, is that these two e-tailers are paying a hell of a lot more to advertise with NetTaxi. The other significant difference is, with TSIG and NetTaxi, the alliance is symbiotic, there is a mutual give and take, whereas in the typical advertising relationship, one gives money, the other just takes, no further commitment. Where's the love?
Reminds me of an old girlfriend, but that's another story, for another time.
Best, Tim |
