Yes, quotes can be very slow. If you want to daytrade you really need a separate real-time quote service. My first trade today was processed very slowly, but my second trade went through in a timely fashion. You really can't daytrade if you are relying on Schwab for on-demand quotes; you need streaming RT quotes. I use Interquote, but I don't necessarily recommend it. They have quite a few problems, especially in the afternoon, but I like their speadsheet-like format and if you buy it for a year, the total costs, including exchange fees (depends on how much you want) comes out to just 75-80 dollars a month. Again, I am definitely not recommending Interquote; there are others that may be a better deal for you. I like IQ, but I frequently get pissed at 'em. Good luck.
Best,
Papillon
