Great News. Only I wish they had announced b2b actions
back when VERT was trading at 130-140 and the market was
running on steroids. This would probably have given a
50 point runup! Anyway good news is always good. Vert
should continue to runup in future. Good earnings report
and split expected on Apr 22.

VerticalNet Launches Web Auctions For Businesses

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Business Web site operator VerticalNet Inc. (Nasdaq:VERT - news) Tuesday said it has launched
business-to-business Web auctions, a service it hopes will gain the same popularity as online consumer auctions.

Shares of the Horsham, Pa. company soared $9.88 to $89.88 in noon trading.

Under the auction service, firms that use VerticalNet Web sites will now be able to auction off excess inventory or other merchandise.
Buyers can browse the auction and fixed-price categories free of charge and place bids on items of interest, VerticalNet said in a
statement.
