I think you miss the point.

If any put sellers went ho ho ho'ing about how the buyers lost money that IMHO is in pretty bad taste too. It is not in the joy itself, but in the expression, which, to put it frankly, often borders on downright obnoxious as demonstrated certain SI posters. The Burke thread seems to attract more than the average share of such behavior within SI (the Myth thread too).

I guess the point is that politeness costs nothing.
