LSI Logic Has 'Big Piece' of Sony PlayStation, CNBC Reports

New York, April 20 (Bloomberg) -- LSI Logic Corp. says Sony Corp.
continues to be a ''very important'' customer, and that LSI has a
''big piece'' of Sony's second-generation PlayStation, LSI Logic Chief
Executive Wilfred Corrigan told financial news network CNBC. Corrigan
said he does not expect the new PlayStation, to be priced from $500 to
$800, to take business away from the original PlayStation, which sells
for about $129. ''You have a product aimed at the kids' market and at
the high-end, you have a thinking-man's game, so they really don't
interfere with one another,'' Corrigan said on CNBC.
Milpitas, California-based LSI Logic makes chips for the PlayStation
