Here is the Microsoft article

news.com

Last week i suggested possible acquisition targets based upon the trends and associations being made in the industry as a whole. Pointcast was an obvious choice (see past post for link) given IFM's lack of a portal to associate with. With Pointcast, we would have owned a portal, along with the other Baby Bells in the US and Microsoft (also part of the deal). The only other portal without an association is AOL and AOL Canada. Having DSL capability, IFM would have been assured an association and probably with AOL & MSN ( with whom we already have a relationship via E-route). DSL's big draw is the business to business capabilities. DSL providers have small to med. businesses as their customers, which is the target of IFM's business lines.

just trying to anticipate their next move... all comments welcome !!
