Private Placement often are a Prelude to IPO

I know this for a fact, as many private placements
I've gotten into have turned into IPOs a year later.
They may have been unable to get an underwriter
lined up to put a complicated IPO together, so
the private placement is a great way to get a
cash infusion without burdening ASTN further.
Most people buying ASNT are not doing it for
the gomez parent ipo play anyway, they are doing
it for the alternate trading system potential.
an IPO would have only been icing on the cake.
besides, I'm too old to digest much shorting.
If we're real lucky, Asthton or Optimark may
get mentioned tonight on CNBC, then tomorrow
we'll have a gapper. After that things may
calm down till the first major financial
subscribers line up for their new service.
whether that period is a point to take
profits, or accumulate cheaper is anyone's
guess. I'm getting out of a few positions
next week, so I'll have the cash to get more
ASTN if it's still available under $6.50

MSFT's number were good, and margins even
better, so the market will be sighing in
relief tomorrow, and it will be bullish
business as usual. Hell, what else can
you do with your extra cash after maxing
out your 401k, IRA, and paying off the
Mortage. Collect Beenie Babies?
