Thanks for the post, Randal. Can't stand Fortune. They run such poorly thought out pieces. That same issue has a piece about a little company with no products (innovacom) outsmarting cube in the MPEG2 decoding battle. Yeah, when donkeys fly. Seems to me that the venture between dish and murdoch has already answered all of the questions which this article raises about them. I think these guys will survive and prosper. Fortune's done some short term damage, however. I was shocked at how CUBE tanked based upon an erroneous Herb Greenberg article that Fortune ran. Not sure how much to attribute to Fortune's ragging, but it probably has a significant effect. Lots of little guys either got out with a profit or will drop soon. But I gotta think this has become an attractive investment for some of the insititutions....not to mention for me. carl
