Sega Dreamcast to hit US in Sept. '99

posted 4/16/99
NEWS
Sega's next generation Dreamcast system will arrive in US stores on September 9, 1999, and be priced at US$199. 10-15 games will be available at the launch date, with 30 by Christmas.

The system will feature a built in 56K modem for Internet access and gameplay. It features a 200 MHz 128-bit processor from Hitachi for a CPU. The Dreamcast is capable of running games designed for Microsoft's Windows CE operating system.

Sega of America will spend $100 million on advertising for the launch. For its part, Sony, makers of the popular Sony PlayStation (with over 60% of the US market), is planning a next-generation unit featuring a 300 MHz 128-bit processor, to be released sometime in the year 2000.

Wow , $100,000,000 in advertising with Iomega's Zip included ? It looks like a winner to me.
