Navistar raises truck, bus market forecast

CHICAGO, April 20 (Reuters) - Truck and bus maker Navistar International Corp. said Tuesday that it has raised its forecast of industry demand for trucks and buses in the United States and Canada as those markets continue to grow.

The forecast for heavy- and medium-duty trucks and buses is now 415,000 units, up from the 380,000 the company forecast in December, Navistar said. Total heavy- and medium-duty truck and bus demand for the United States and Canada in 1998 was 390,000 units, Navistar said.
