As far as I'm concerned, you're right. They screwed up. Had they just said they would spin off AV to shareholders the stock would have held up and they could have gotten through this. But no, they had to act like a couple of greedy, wishy washy turds. Too stupid to see that the stock had been bid up by those hoping to get a few shares of AV. When that evaporated, so did the stock and the handwriting was on the wall.
If new management would enhance shareholder value then they will be accepted. If not, I don't need them.
