*The New Paradigm and Mighty Q!*
Anyone squirrelling cash sounds is taking a risk. I'm serious about The New Paradigm. I know human nature hasn't changed, but something huge has.
We are no longer swarms of tribal chimps fighting over peasant land. We are a super-organism in a never-before adventure.
A very scary thing aspect of that is that human nature hasn't changed and that nature has to interact with this infinitely complex, mostly unintelligible, integrated world which ranges from PNG bush people to the world of Q!, sitting there on the Mesa north of San Diego.
Several years ago I visited it [I've been there lots of times but this was 1994, not long after Q! had moved into their new HQ!] and my jaw dropped. Now, I've been around a lot. I've lived in a few advanced countries, been to Japan, Hong Kong and all that stuff plus read the odd magazine etc so I'm not totally off the farm.
That little place looked like a city on the moon with a forcefield dome over it, literally. There were fighters circling [still reading George or is this past your attention span?] around on training flights from a nearby military base. There were big, shiny buildings, new flash houses, aerials and all the widgets human imagination has been able to bring to reality. It looked like the nucleus of something which humans have never done.
Not like London, which is a big city with a lot of new buildings around. Sort of the core of a new, virtual, but real Roman Empire, with the backing of the USA military, legal, economic, political, cultural and mass of people. I can make jokes about cultural [Big Macs and that Stringer guy, but you know what I mean].
Now you could say that's an exaggeration, and it is after you spend time there looking for a dunny. They are still just people, but I hope you get the drift.
How humans will interact with all this I have very little idea. I think they will be overawed and battered into submission individually with mob rule [via democracy] keeping it more or less civilized.
But the sky is really not the limit. There is so much going on that I have only a peripheral awareness of it and I spend hours a day reading and seeing what's up using this Web brain to help me. Everywhere I look, there are amazing advances going on which will produce value for people. These are not just baubles - these are human enablers; fibre, Globalstar, cancer cures, thousands of biotech improvements such as gene chips, networks, OFDM [got to slip orthogonality in there]. All that suff.
Then we have Kosovo, which is close to the glimmerings of world government.
These are very, very big new paradigms. I want to be fully invested.
But must rush and try to catch the latest great quarterly result. Wheeee!!!! As a trader George, this is pig-in-mud heaven for you.
I might have to cut and paste this in reply to GG who denies The New Paradigm. The reaction GG got was absurd. One thing I agree with GG on 'Anything can happen - have a plan'. Mqurice |
