Paul, I like your rationale -but why have we ignored the deaths of over 2,000,000 Sudanese in an ongoing civil war and 1,000,000 deaths in Rwanda in 1994 without a peep? And the major conflict in the Congo?
Assuming that estimated figures from today are correct, the Serbians have killed 3,500 Albanian men in Kosovo. Add the previous 2,000 deaths that makes 5,500 deaths.
If you like refugees try the Sudan- 7,000,000+ refugees. This is not intended in any way to belittle the 850,000 current Kosovar Albanian refugees, but one wonders the rationale of the distinction..
And finalyly do not forget that the Indoensains illegally occupy East Tiomr and have killed 1/3 of the population or 200,000 people there too.... |
