-- Aviation Week: Exclusive Details Stealth Fighter Shootdown --

Business Editors

WASHINGTON, D.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 20, 1999--Serb forces
were able to shoot down an F-117 stealth fighter over Yugoslavia
because NATO forces failed to detect that the Serbs had moved
surface-to-air missile batteries and because protection from U.S.
jamming aircraft was inadequate, Aviation Week & Space Technology
reports in its latest issue.
The magazine's story details the chain of events that led to the
shootdown of the aircraft on the fourth night of the war. For more
information about the air war in Yugoslavia, the F-117 that was shot
down and what foreign powers might learn from its wreckage, call
Managing Editor David Hughes at 202/383-2310.
