Motley Fool issues clarification on AOL/Tel-Save deal:

They say: Further information indicates that the $100 million payment is composed of two parts.

The first $57 million is an up-front marketing payment for building the area and setting up the billing information that goes completely in America Online's pocket.

The other $43 million is an advance on royalties that will be counted against the actual income and recognized over the next ten quarters, but is non-refundable according to America Online.

Not refundable. Not a loan.
