SO: I often address more than one subject in a single post. That is why I addressed part to you and part to all. But I would like to remind you that many that read the Market different than you, do it without bias or emotion and know their analysis is leading their decisions.

No lecture intended to you are anyone that does not need it. But I have received several Emails as of late asking what to do by folks holding big losses after this decline.

I do not consider myself either a bull or a bear. I have been on record calling for a rise into April as were you. The difference was I believed mid April would present a medium-term top.

Thus, I have been voicing caution for investors since late March and early April. I have gone on record recommending to not risk the retirement money or the new home down payment or the kids college fund. In other words be very cautious at this time.

As many have completely different time horizons in their investment strategies, my advice may have little value to some, for instance, a daytrader or even a short-term position trader. One would expect those folks to be nimble enough to get out when the Market started topping this month. But for those medium and long-term investors that have been hearing continued bullish sentiment up until Monday, and took positions this month, many would have been better off sitting in cash.

I used the bottom half of my post to you to make my case again for a investment game plan. Many investors do not realize that most big losses happen to those that refrain from selling at a loss fearing that as soon as they do the stock will rebound. So, they watch the stock steadily decline. I believe this is a dominant reason investors loose big.

Regards,
LG
