ALL ON THE THREAD: I tried to wire funds today to the contact A@P published, but Schwab required a correspondent US bank ID where I guess the funds are funneled on their way to the Skopje Bank. This info was not part of his post. They said the SWIFT code is not enough, and could not process the wire order. I have emailed an inquiry to the contact he listed, but if anyone knows this info, please post it right away! I'm sure the money can be put to good use far sooner than the elapsed time consumed by snailmail and clearing US checks. The refugees can't wait. Personally, I appreciate so much that A@P is onsite to identify groups that can really provide effective help with the $. This makes it far more compelling to send funds to help relieve suffering in the midst of this horror. I'd encourage everyone who is so moved to wire funds ASAP. -- Alan
