Market is stronger than QCOM has anticipated.
QCOM has set a worldwide CDMA standard, which QCOM has the
patent rights to and royalty revenues which will be increasing in
substantial amounts going forward. Qualcomm has set :
A single CDMA standard set worldwide with 3 operational modes
compatible with all the other major worldwide standards(networks),
with are backwardly compatible.

Much more information about the next generations of
cell phone chips to be released this current quarter.
Improvement in gross margins is foreseen.
250 % increase in operating earnings from last year.
Inventories down , sales up, demand strong everywhere.
Royalties moving upward going forward(figured conservatively),
Pro forma basis earnings are a $1.20 per share this quarter,
The rest of 1999 and fy2000 QCOM is very enthused about,
Demand so strong, worried about supply shortage.
$5.00 is a low ball conservative number now for FY2000 earnings,
98 mil. verse 65 mil. in pro forma basis up 50.7% from last year
All analyst congratulate QCOM on the quarterly results
A very strong quarter, and foresee the markets remaining strong
Management not prepared to quantify numbers for FY2000,
Market has been too strong for management to give any
good guidance at that this time.
