Still haven't been able to open Windows Explorer in my primary install..any help at all along this line would be greatly appreciated.

I had a similar problem with explorer in Win95. I think it happened during one of my experiments or ?? I do not recall how I resolved it. I may have used a restore.

Does anything happen..ie does it try to execute..flash on the screen??

Try executing from the run option from the start button. Type in c:\winnt\explorer.exe (or other folder depending on where it is). That should tell us if it is a shortcut problem or a changed configuration issue. Perhaps explorer is looking for something or remembers a previous configuration that got changed..
