Greg... it should not be a problemm... it should be really easy...brokerage companies handle this stuff all the time. ..
I've used Fidelity for years (webexpress, options trading, and account interface to Quicken software ..... really great at tax-time)

but lo & behold... same stuff available from ETrade, plus MUCH better IPO offerings and some really great new things in the future coming from Etrade.

Everybody is saying you should have accounts with 2 brokers. The problem comes when you're trying to sell... not the buying...you have to sell where you've done the buy.... and if they're experiencing some type of glitch... you could feel that you've been handcuffed.
