ELOT does have a classy website, but perusal reveals that no contracts have actually been negotiated with state lotteries. And even after a contract is established it would be months before the ELOT operations would be up and running.
But as a lottery junky, this is a fascinating concept.
And e-commerce is allowing you to buy more and more things over the internet. Why not lottery tickets?
But how do they get around the ban on interstate sale of lottery tickets? But even intrastate online sales would still be a big market especially in the big states like CA., TX. & N.Y. which all have lotteries.
And the Powerball is already multistate.
A lot of questions need to be answered, and a lot of barriers need to be overcome.
