Finding politics incomprehensible most of the time, I will only hazard a wild guess based on nothing. Wouldn't the role of us as Policeman of the World be more of a self-appointment? Do other people really want us to commit to this? Or only when it serves their agenda? We seem frequently to be hated for our powerful position and any interference. And can we afford to be the world's policeman? If we try to take care of everyone, seems to me we could take care of nothing well, including ourselves. And if we did this, could we do it with only a professional army? I admit I probably wouldn't be crazy about the boys being policemen either.
