I don't understand why one would be confused about today's press release. "Current liability" is common and well-understood terminology. It is any liability which has accrued or is reasonably known to have accrued, whether payable immediately or at some time in the future. It is to be contrasted with a "contingent" liability, which will never exist in the absence of further developments.

I fail to see how the language could have been clearer, since the company is apparently under a gag order with respect to details. Given the speculation by some on this board, there may be a small additional liability which will accrue IF the company sells certain of the Summers patents. But that represents no currently valuable claim, and certainly has no impact on current cash flow.
