George, speaking of Barlow, the Grateful Dead was the longest and most successful touring rock band ever.. and they were the ONLY band that allowed you to tape each and every show, making a center area available at every venue for setting up elaborate microphone and recording systems. TRUST that this served to INCREASE their exposure, popularity and bank accounts, and did not somehow cost them some imagined substantial opportunity costs.

So, contrary to what your people may tell you, consider that being less aggressive in protecting your "IP" may not put you "out of business" or even at a disadvantage, but in fact may help to further popularize and monetize your insights.

In any case, just my opinion.
