You underestimate the power of lone specialists. Stephen Ambrose, for example, has almost single handedly raised the reputation of Dwight Eisenhower, because of his access to documentary material,diligence and expertise. It is the specialists who will determine the reputation of this administration, and the Presidential historians I have seen (admittedly but a sampling)on shows like Hardball are pretty hard on Clinton.
