Micheal, my personal thoughts are the following. About sector rotation: Where will be more growth over the next 5 or 10 years: Aluminium, Steel, Coal or Telecommunications? Self evident...
Currently TLAB has an excellent product pipeline that the customers strongly endorses. The latest results were just great. OTOH, TLAB is a relatively small co. So if in doubt, LU may be a more "conservative" alternative. But telecoms generally will be a key sector that will be invested heavily and globally over the next few years.
Depending on your time horizon and risk profile, being invested in growth stocks historically has yielded better results than investment in cyclicals. Cyclicals must be traded occasionally (in a contra-cyclical fashion), growth stocks not necessarily so.
I don't know if you picked a short term bottom with your TLAB purchase, but strategically I think buying(adding to TLAB was a very good move. One should not so much focus what the stock does today or tomorrow, but keep a longer term perspective.
