Gulo, Sc is Scandium, I have worked only on the calcia and yttria stabilized zirconia systems. People are probably trying to find other stabilizers that also provide for better oxygen mobility.

Do you know if the ceria/Germania system is used as is or as a phase within Zirconia? Germania is intrinsically expensive (it used to be in the range of $500 to $1000 per Kg) If it is the bulk of the electrolyte, I doubt it is going to be very practical, I presume it is just a "stabilizing" phase in the Zirconia.
