Is this stock now starting to trade on earnings as opposed to "internet potential"?

It seems to me that this is one of the few ISP's that understands the nature of servicing the customer in what can be a very confusing and awkward process. They will have the potential to add value through service to what is becoming a commodity. I think they should be able to integrate DSL technology and perhaps even combine with a cable outfit on the right terms and they can become pretty substantial - as long as they focus on service. There is a constantly growing number of AOL customers ripe for picking as they come to understand the dynamics of the web and the limitations of AOL.

If there is a company which you might look beyond earnings at this stage in their development, I would think Mindspring might be it. Maybe not, though. Perhaps they should be held to earnings and subscriptions. Maybe management isn't suited to take it to the next level, or maybe their value already reflects their potential.

Either way, they do have potential, they just need to execute now.
