MSGI vs. DCLK (Direction of Earnings)

As for DCLK, for the fiscal year ended 12/98, revenues rose from $30.6 million to $80.2 million. Net loss INCREASED from $8.4 million to $18.2 million. As for MSGI, its revenue also went up 120% in 1998 (even without the Stevens-Knox or CMG Direct); however and in contrast to DCLK, MSGI's EPS for 1998 reflected the same record-setting trend: a $2.48 improvement to end the fiscal year (1998) at a loss of only .37. As we know, .31 of the loss was associated with the GE-capital transaction and .06 was associated with operations. MSGI is rapidly moving forward towards profitability and, with the GE conversion, they'll be 31 cents closer to turning the corner.
