The last thing I would be worried about is Prudential issuing a "Hold" rating on MSFT.

If Goldman did this, I would be concerned. Prudential probably views this as a good opportunity to capitalize on recent weakness in the stock along with traditional selling pressure on MSFT shares post earnings release to (i) make their analysts look good, and (ii) hopefully drive the stock down a little more to get their institutional clients some more shares.

This game happens routinely. I would not let it scare you.
