There was a time I knew many of the Celtic High days but Beltane is obscure to me.

Perhaps if I ever get a minute I shall research it.

By the way, several years ago I bought a book called "The Road Wet, The Wind Close" by James Roy. I actually bought two of them because I lent it out often. Right now the spare is circulating in a Benedictine Monastery in Newark, I imagine that all the monks have to read it before I have a chance of getting it back.

As if the Church ever gives anything back.

But I think that you might like it. It starts out with the premise of scholarly "monks" or Druids on Skellig Michael and brings the story up through Newgrange and into the various Celtic High Days and a concept of how they developed.

A quick read, because if you are interested in the subject you cannot put it down.
