Hi Wily,

"Regarding the slow 98: You say the more software you install the slower it gets: Is
that true even if you don't have the programs running -- only loaded on the HDD?
Could you explain that a bit?"

Everything piece of software that you add to your system adds information to the Windows registry. And the registry loads every-time you start you computer. More you add, bigger it gets. That's the short end of the stick. I could get really technical, but trust me, it gets even more confusing.

Overall though, I prefer Windows 98 over 95. I'll take NT over either any day of the week, but that's a different story. Win 98 has added some nice features that make a power users life a little easier, however, they 'fixed' some things that should never have been fixed in the first place. The added hardware support and diagnostic tools (I love msconfig) are a definite bonus.

I think someone mentioned TweakUI before. I also like it alot and highly recommend it. It's the little things in there that can make your life easier.
