Regarding software on a zip - How about the 25meg mini disk? Could IOMG afford to "give them away" to software companies at cost, just to establish the standard?

I am still amazed at IOMG's year long run, with so much more still to come. Penetration into the Asian and European markets will be big enough news for another big jump.

Speculating what other big news may be in the works. I think the OEM deals are now relatively old news and each additional OEM will have minimal impact with the exception of COMPAQ. The LS120 must be a thorny issue in the COMPAQ war room right now. I find it hard to believe that any other PC maker will endorse a product by a competitor. They probably never anticipated the emergence of this ZIP phenomenum. To be fair, LS120 is a brilliant idea, with backwards compatibility with the 3.5.

If ZIP/JAZ becomes the standard, can COMPAQ afford not to offer ZIP in some of their lines? I can just see the headlines now: "COMPAQ announced that they have abandoned LS120 and will start offering ZIP on their Presario lines......" IOMG UP 20 POINTS.
